Qué (quién) es extra-adrenal - definición

HORMONES PRODUCED BY THE ADRENAL CORTEX
Adrenal cortex hormones; Adrenocortical hormones; Adrenal hormone; Adrenal cortex hormone; Adrenal gland hormone; Adrenal gland hormones; Adrenal hormones

Adrenal steroid
CLASS OF CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS
Adrenal androgen; Adrenal steroids; Adrenal androgens
Adrenal steroids are steroids that are derived from the adrenal glands. They include corticosteroids, which consist of glucocorticoids like cortisol and mineralocorticoids like aldosterone, adrenal androgens like dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), DHEA sulfate (DHEA-S), and androstenedione (A4), and neurosteroids like DHEA and DHEA-S, as well as pregnenolone and pregnenolone sulfate (P5-S).
Adrenal gland disorder
ENDOCRINE DISEASE
Adrenal gland disorders; Adrenal gland disease; Adrenal gland diseases; Adrenal Gland Disorder; Adrenal Disorder; Adrenal disorder; Adrenal dysfunction
Adrenal gland disorders (or diseases) are conditions that interfere with the normal functioning of the adrenal glands. Adrenal disorders may cause hyperfunction or hypofunction, and may be congenital or acquired.
Adrenal tumor
  • Main sites of metastases for some common cancer types. Primary cancers are denoted by "''...cancer''" and their main metastasis sites are denoted by "''...metastases''".<ref>List of included entries and references is found on main image page in Commons: [[:File:Metastasis sites for common cancers.svg]]</ref> Lung cancer metastasis to the adrenal glands are mentioned with red arrows.
NEOPLASM (DISEASE) THAT INVOLVES THE ADRENAL GLAND
Adrenal cancer; Adrenal gland neoplasms; Adrenocortical tumor; Adrenal mass; Adrenal tumour
An adrenal tumor or adrenal mass is any benign or malignant neoplasms of the adrenal gland, several of which are notable for their tendency to overproduce endocrine hormones. Adrenal cancer is the presence of malignant adrenal tumors, and includes neuroblastoma, adrenocortical carcinoma and some adrenal pheochromocytomas.

Adrenocortical hormone

In humans and other animals, the adrenocortical hormones are hormones produced by the adrenal cortex, the outer region of the adrenal gland. These polycyclic steroid hormones have a variety of roles that are crucial for the body’s response to stress (for example, the fight-or-flight response), and they also regulate other functions in the body. Threats to homeostasis, such as injury, chemical imbalances, infection, or psychological stress, can initiate a stress response. Examples of adrenocortical hormones that are involved in the stress response are aldosterone and cortisol. These hormones also function in regulating the conservation of water by the kidneys and glucose metabolism, respectively.
